Summer school Plasticity in the Adult Brain

This Summerschool took place between August 7 and August 12, 2011

The goal of the Summerschool was to teach and train advanced master students and starting PhD students in recent advances in neural plasticity, focusing on the adult brain and from an interdisciplinary perspective. This was achieved in two ways: first by a series of lectures by renowned international speakers, to provide background information to the participants; and secondly, participants worked on assignments that required extensive discussion between the lecturers, staff and participants.

In total 19 carefully selected students participated (7 Dutch, 12 International; of which 8 Master’s students of the Neuroscience & Cognition program) in this intense course. The course started on Sunday, August 7 with a plenary lecture given by Colin Blakemore (Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, University of Oxford, UK) in Stadskasteel Oudaen in the city center of Utrecht.
